Introduction of Laboratory
Thermal-Structural Analysis and Aero-Heating Test Laboratory focuses on the research fields related to thermal-structural behavior of material/structure under the harsh thermal condition. Under the harsh thermal environment, material/structure could experience a material failure by a high level of heat load, and the damage of material/structure lead to mission failure of mechanical system (e.g. High-speed vehicle). Therefore it is essential to design thermal protection system (TPS) and to evaluate the performance of the TPS. In this respect, this laboratory seeks to develop a novel thermal protection system for structure/materials that can be used in various industrial and high-tech fields where harsh thermal environments can be formed.
